Hydra is inspired by some vague idea of an ancient underwater artifact, in whose many-eyed gaze one can view memories and experiences from the past. This project is my first to utilize a Raspberry Pi to run Processing, to build a digital simulation of the piece, run the simulation, analyze it, and then transmit the data to an Arduino, which ultimately controls the LEDs. Hydra moves slowly but deliberately, generating palette fields which morph almost imperceptibly into one other.
